The coverage is complete, with no gap left for the wind, and the fleece stays comfortable in direct contact with the skin. The adjustable design sits under a ski or motorbike helmet without adding bulk, and the breathable fabric avoids that stifling feeling during sustained effort.
Made entirely from fleece. Machine wash at 30°C on a delicate programme, turned inside out and in a wash bag if possible. No bleach, no fabric softener: softener clogs the fleece fibres and the fabric loses its plush feel. Air dry, never in the tumble dryer or on a radiator. Ironing is not advised, as fleece will not take it and melts against a hot iron. Stored flat once dry, the balaclava keeps its stretch and its softness from one season to the next.
